Recreation | New Park Living

New Park boasts a variety recreational opportunities in and around our community for athletes of all skill levels & ages!

New Park is the area’s only neighborhood to offer a YMCA facility just a short stroll from your front door. The James W. Wilson, Jr. YMCA is located adjacent to the elementary school within the New Park neighborhood. The state-of-the-art facility offers a complete mix of quality programs including organized youth sports, exercise opportunities, and more. Visit the Montgomery YMCA website for more information.

New Park is fortunate to be located adjacent to one of Montgomery’s Edward Thompson Ballfields with Montgomery’s only Miracle League Field, providing an opportunity for convenient access to sports for all children. The Miracle League is an organization that provides the opportunity for persons of all ages with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to play baseball.

Footprints Ministry is a 501c3 who serves area hospitals and distributes gift bags to parents who have a baby admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This ministry has touched the lives of so many families. New Park is a sponsor of Footprints to the Finishline, a 5K and 1 mile Fun Run at GracePointe Church that runs through the neighborhood. The race is usually in late February or March.

The New Park Family Duathlon starts at the James W. Wilson, Jr. YMCA and runs through the neighborhood. The event is usually sometime in May or June. The adult distance is a 2-mile run, a 10-mile bike, followed by another 2-mile run. The kid’s distance (age 12 and under) is a 1-mile run, a 4-mile bike, followed by a half-mile run.
